Song of the seasons coming through me now
Like the wind in your hair
We're so together in the way that we feel
That we could end up anywhere

Song of the Seasons, Neil Young & Crazy Horse

WE COULD END UP ANYWHERE

Our tales unfolded in unsynchronized times
Dissimilar settings and distinctive climes.
Tattoed by trials, molded by the master potter
Blind to the symbiosis grace would soon muster.

Our journeys were different but the plan was the same
Isolation trimmed the fat, hardness was preordained.
The view from the rim’s for those who climb the peak
Majestic beauty, pristine vision… something all should seek.

Homesteading on the rim? An impossible proposition
But what we bring back from the trek is spiritual nutrition.
For hobbits heading to Mordor, lembas bread did the job
On the eve of a marathon, a pasta meal for complex carbs.

For Greg and Carol the best comes from the rim
Before King Jesus, fairy tales and athletic feats dim.
Life is lived in flatlands and valleys with everyone else.
But Jesus sustains and strengthens in a way that tells.

To know him is to be free, to serve him is to be content
We dream of what’s next in our lives already well spent.
We hear, we embrace, the call of the one who woos
We could end up anywhere, but this one thing we do.

Dec. 20, 2021… our 38th Anniversary. In 12 months it’ll be our 50th! 🙂
